Nursing Care

Compassionate, individualized care with dignity

We understand choosing nursing care for a loved one is a difficult decision. We help make that decision easier by providing compassionate, individualized care to our residents and their family members. At the Parkway Health Center, our residents are at the center of all we do.

The Parkway Health Center is a nursing facility at Parkway Village licensed by the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care. Our goal is to provide comfort and dignity to residents, to help each one achieve their highest level of well-being, and to give family members peace of mind with the knowledge their loved one is cared for, safe, and thriving.

A variety of daily activities give residents the opportunity to socialize and have fun. Activities vary by type and intensity and include games, crafts, gardening, Bible study, worship services, singing, concerts, socials, and more. Activities also provide opportunities for residents to work on physical dexterity, memory, and recall.

Volunteers from the community and Parkway Village’s independent living area assist with activities enriching the Health Center residents’ social, emotional, and spiritual lives. We also encourage family members to participate in activities, providing emotional and social support to their loved one.

Our staff includes an administrator, director of nursing, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, medical director, activities coordinator, and chaplain. These team members work together to address physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs, both on a short-term (respite) and long-term basis.

Parkway Village is a gated community with 24-hour, on-site security, a feature that sets us apart from other nursing facilities in central Arkansas. Other security features include secure entrances/exits, sprinklers, smoke alarms, and an emergency call system in every room/suite.

  • I'm so thankful that I live at Parkway. I have so many friends and acquaintances, as well as people to take care of me, people to ask favors of and people to do favors for. I just love it.

  • Parkway Village has a great staff, lots of good food, plenty of fun activities, and comfortable living. I am so glad I moved here while I am still young enough to enjoy the freedom and security that Parkway Village offers.

  • Lee B., son
Before our father came to the Shell Center, his health condition was rapidly deteriorating. . . Over the past four years his condition stabilized, all of his needs are met on a daily basis, and we know he feels safe and cared for. We are very pleased with the care that the Shell Center has given our father.

  • Parkway Village nursing care
Meeting with the administrator, the director of nursing (a nurse practitioner), and one of the two registered nurses on staff; observing a practical nurse making her rounds; and watching the certified nursing aides caring for their patients in a surprisingly immaculate environment were enough to give me a sense of relief that our journey for skilled care had ended. We had come home.

  • Independent living at Parkway Village
With so many decisions to make in retirement living, it can seem overwhelming, but moving to Parkway Village was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have so many wonderful friends and neighbors and now that I don't have to worry about keeping up my home, it has given me so much more time to do the things I really enjoy.

  • Resident happy with continuing care
I chose to come here only two months after losing my husband. I needed the security of feeling safe while being alone for the first time in my life. Learning home and yard maintenance were provided gave me peace. Most important, though, is having so many caring, gracious, and fun people to mingle with. That was therapeutic and helped me through the grieving process. Parkway Village continues to meet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in my life!

  • Parkway resident tells about living at Parkway Village
Moving to Parkway Village more than 15 years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I no longer have responsibilities that home ownership requires. I, along with my family, am so very thankful that I am living my retirement years in such a wonderful and secure place as Parkway. Parkway Village is the place to retire!
